Winneba is a town located in the Central Region of southern Ghana. It serves as the capital of the Effutu Municipal District and has a population of 60,331. The town is situated on the south coast, approximately 140 kilometres east of Cape Coast.
Traditionally known as Simpa, Winneba is recognized as a historic fishing port. The current member of parliament for the area is Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin.
