Agona Swedru is a town located in the Central Region of southern Ghana. It serves as the capital of the Agona West Municipal District. According to 2010 census data, the settlement has a population of approximately 55,239 people.

The primary language spoken by the inhabitants of Agona Swedru is Fante. The community observes an annual festival known as Akwambo, which takes place during the month of August.
