Cape Coast is a city located in the Central Region of Ghana and serves as the capital of the Cape Coast Metropolitan District. It is situated approximately 38.4 miles (61.8 km) from Sekondi-Takoradi and about 80 miles (130 km) from the national capital, Accra.
The city is recognized as one of the most historically significant settlements in Ghana. According to the 2010 census, Cape Coast has a population of 108,374 people, with the majority of its residents being of Fante ethnicity.
