Tafo

Ghana

Tafo is a town situated in the Kumasi Metropolitan District within the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Located near the regional capital, it serves as one of the urban constituencies of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and holds one direct seat in the Parliament of Ghana.

The settlement has experienced significant population growth and housing development in recent years, leading to ongoing debate regarding whether it remains a distinct town or has become a suburb of Kumasi. It currently ranks as the thirtieth most populous settlement in Ghana with a population of 60,919 people.

Tafo is positioned approximately 9.8 kilometers from the center of Kumasi and 4.6 kilometers from Tarkwa. It should be distinguished from a similarly named village called New Tafo, which is located roughly 3.3 kilometers away.
