French Guiana

Cayenne is the prefecture and capital city of French Guiana, an overseas region and department of France located in South America. The city is situated on a former island at the mouth of the Cayenne River along the Atlantic coast.

As the largest Francophone city on the South American continent, Cayenne serves as a primary urban center for the region. Its official motto is "fert aurum industria," which translates to "work brings wealth."
