Verona is the largest city in the Veneto region of northern Italy. It serves as one of the seven provincial capitals of the region and holds the distinction of being the largest city municipality in both Veneto and northeastern Italy. The metropolitan area of Verona covers approximately 1,426 square kilometers and has a population of 714,310 inhabitants.

The city is a primary tourist destination in Northern Italy, recognized for its significant artistic heritage. It is well known for hosting several annual fairs and shows, as well as an opera season held within the Arena, which is an ancient Roman amphitheater.
