Zestaponi, also transliterated as Zestafoni, is a city located in western Georgia. It serves as the administrative center of the Zestaponi District and is situated at the eastern edge of the Colchis Plateau. The town is built on both banks of the Qvirila River.
The city is the central hub of Margveti, an ancient and historical region within the Imereti province. Additionally, Zestaponi serves as the center of the Eparchy of Margveti for the Georgian Orthodox Church.
