Tywyn is a town, community, and seaside resort located on the Cardigan Bay coast in southern Gwynedd, Wales. Formerly spelled Towyn, the settlement was historically situated within the county of Merionethshire and currently has a population of 3,264.
The town is notable for its historical and cultural landmarks, most significantly the Cadfan Stone. This stone cross contains what is recognized as the earliest known example of written Welsh. Additionally, Tywyn serves as the home of the Talyllyn Railway.
