New Quay is a seaside town, community, and electoral ward located in Ceredigion, Wales. Situated on Cardigan Bay, it lies approximately 19 miles (31 km) south-west of Aberystwyth. As of the 2021 census, the town had a resident population of 1,045.
The town is characterized by its harbour and large sandy beaches, serving as both a traditional fishing port and a popular seaside resort. It is positioned along the Ceredigion Coast Path and the Wales Coast Path. New Quay also holds significant literary associations with the poet Dylan Thomas, specifically regarding his play, Under Milk Wood.
