Merthyr Mawr is a village and community located in Bridgend, Wales, within the historic county of Glamorgan. The settlement is situated approximately 2.5 miles from the center of Bridgend town and occupies the area west of the Ewenny River between Bridgend and Porthcawl.
The community includes the settlement of Tythegston and a coastal stretch of sand dunes known as Merthyr Mawr Warren. According to the 2011 census, the population of the community was 267 residents.
