Hawarden is a village and community located in Flintshire, Wales. It forms part of the Deeside conurbation situated on the border between Wales and England. The area is home to Hawarden Castle and is bordered by the scenic wooded Hawarden Park to the south.
The population of the Hawarden ward was 1,887 as of the 2011 census, while the broader community—which includes Ewloe Mancot and Aston—had a population of 13,920. The local geography includes Hawarden Bridge, which contains distribution and industrial business premises beyond Shotton/Queensferry and the Dee.
The western portion of the main street is known as The Highway. This section begins at a crossroads featuring a central fountain, located near several public houses that offer restaurant services.
