Colwyn Bay is a town, community, and seaside resort located in the Conwy County Borough on the north coast of Wales. It overlooks the Irish Sea and sits within the historic county boundaries of Denbighshire. As of the 2021 census, the community recorded a population of 10,576, while the surrounding built-up area had a population of 29,275.
The town is primarily known for its 4.8 kilometre long sandy beach. This coastline has been enhanced with millions of tonnes of sand to create a "man-made" beach that remains permanently available regardless of the tides.
