Bridgend is a town located in the Bridgend County Borough of Wales, United Kingdom. It is situated approximately 20 miles (32 km) west of Cardiff and 20 miles (32 km) east of Swansea. The town falls within the Cardiff Capital Region, which had a population of approximately 1.54 million as of 2019.
The town derives its name from a medieval bridge spanning the River Ogmore. Additionally, the River Ewenny flows through the area. As of 2021, Bridgend had a recorded population of 49,597 residents.
