Kirkintilloch is a town and Burgh of Barony located in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It is situated on the south side of Strathkelvin along the Forth and Clyde Canal, positioned approximately 8 miles (13 km) northeast of central Glasgow.
Historically part of Dunbartonshire, the town serves as the administrative home for the East Dunbartonshire council area. According to census data, its population was estimated at 19,700 in 2009 and recorded at 19,689 in 2011.
