Kirkcaldy is a town and former royal burgh located in Fife on the east coast of Scotland. It is situated approximately 11.5 miles north of Edinburgh and 27.5 miles south-southwest of Dundee.
As of the 2011 census, Kirkcaldy had a recorded population of 49,460. This figure makes it the second-largest settlement in Fife and the 11th most populous settlement in Scotland.
