Kilwinning is a town located in North Ayrshire, Scotland, situated on the banks of the River Garnock. It is positioned approximately 21 miles (34 km) southwest of Glasgow and is bordered by the coastal towns of Stevenston to the west and Irvine to the south, with Dalry located to the north.
The town is historically recognized as a Civil Parish and is often referred to as "The Crossroads of Ayrshire." According to census data, the population was recorded at 15,908 in 2001 and rose to approximately 16,990 by 2022.
