Coatbridge is a town located in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is situated in the central Lowlands, approximately 8.5 miles east of the Glasgow city centre.
The town forms part of an area known as the Monklands along with its neighbor, Airdrie. While often considered part of the Greater Glasgow urban area, Coatbridge and Airdrie have not been included in official population figures for this region since 2016 due to small gaps between their built-up areas.
