Lisburn is a city located in Northern Ireland within the United Kingdom. It is situated approximately 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Belfast city centre along the River Lagan, which serves as the boundary between County Antrim and County Down.
The town was first laid out during the 17th century by English and Welsh settlers. Following the arrival of French Huguenots in the 18th century, Lisburn developed into a global centre for the linen industry.
