Larne is a town located on the east coast of County Antrim in Northern Ireland. It falls within the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council area and is situated in the historic barony of Glenarm Upper. As of the 2021 census, the town had a population of 18,853.
The town serves as a major passenger and freight roll-on roll-off port. Geographically and politically, Larne combines with parts of the neighboring districts of Antrim, Newtownabbey, and Causeway Coast and Glens to form the East Antrim constituency for elections to the Westminster Parliament and the Northern Ireland Assembly.
