Whitehaven is a town and civil parish located in the Cumberland district of Cumbria, England. Situated on the north-west coast, it lies approximately 35 miles (56 km) south-west of Carlisle and 4 miles (6 km) outside the Lake District National Park.
The parish includes the small village of Sandwith. According to the 2021 census, the population of the parish was 24,040, while the Whitehaven built-up area recorded a population of 22,945. The town serves as a coastal port in the region.
