Welwyn Garden City is a town located in the Welwyn Hatfield district of Hertfordshire, England. Situated approximately 20 miles (32 km) north of London, it serves as a notable example of early urban planning and development.
The settlement is distinguished by its status as both a garden city and one of the first new towns in England. It was the second garden city established in the country and exemplifies the physical, social, and cultural planning ideals of the periods during which it was constructed. As of 2021, the town had a population of 51,505.
