Wath upon Dearne is a town located in the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham within South Yorkshire, England. It is situated south of the River Dearne and lies approximately 5 miles (8 km) north of Rotherham, positioned nearly halfway between the towns of Barnsley and Doncaster.
According to the 2011 census, the town had a population of 11,816. Wath upon Dearne maintains a twinning relationship with the French commune of Saint-Jean-de-Bournay.
