Uxbridge is a suburban town located in west London, England. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the London Borough of Hillingdon and is situated approximately 15.4 miles (24.8 km) northwest of Charing Cross.
Historically, Uxbridge formed part of the parish of Hillingdon within the county of Middlesex. The area underwent significant expansion and population growth during the suburban development of London in the 20th century. It was designated a municipal borough in 1955 and became an official part of Greater London in 1965.
