Thamesmead

United Kingdom

Thamesmead is an area located in south-east London, England. It straddles the border between the Royal Borough of Greenwich and the London Borough of Bexley, situated approximately 11 miles (18 km) east of Charing Cross, north-east of Woolwich, and west of Belvedere.

The area primarily consists of social housing constructed from the mid-1960s onwards. These developments were built on former marshland located on the south bank of the River Thames.
