Staines-upon-Thames, commonly referred to as Staines, is a market town located in northwest Surrey, England. Situated approximately 17 miles west of central London, it lies within the Borough of Spelthorne at the confluence of the River Thames and the River Colne.
Historically part of Middlesex, the town was officially transferred to the county of Surrey in 1965. It is currently situated within the Greater London Built-up Area and maintains significant transport links via the M25 and M3 motorways, as well as proximity to Heathrow Airport.
