Spennymoor is a town and civil parish located in County Durham, England. It is situated south of the River Wear, approximately 7 miles (11 km) south of the city of Durham.
The civil parish of Spennymoor includes several villages, specifically Kirk Merrington, Middlestone Moor, Byers Green, and Tudhoe. As of the 2011 census, the parish had a recorded population of 19,816 residents.
