South Benfleet is a town located in the Castle Point district of Essex, England. Situated approximately 30 miles east of London, it sits adjacent to the village of North Benfleet.

The area falls within the Benfleet (SS7) post town, which also encompasses the locations of Thundersley, New Thundersley, and Hadleigh. Historically, the site is notable for being the location of the Battle of Benfleet in 894, a conflict fought between the Vikings and the Saxons.
