Siston is a small village located in South Gloucestershire, England. It is situated approximately 7 miles (11 km) east of Bristol at the confluence of the two sources of the Siston Brook, which serves as a tributary of the River Avon.
The village layout consists of various farms and cottages centered around St Anne's Church and the Tudor manor house known as Siston Court. Historically, the area was bordered to the west by the royal Hunting Forest of Kingswood, which extended toward Bristol Castle. The local portion of this disafforested land became Siston Common, though it has faced recent erosion due to housing developments and the construction of the Avon Ring Road.
In 1989, the village and its surrounding environs were designated as a conservation area. This status provides statutory protection against overdevelopment to preserve the character of the locality.
