Sharlston is a village and civil parish located in West Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) east of Wakefield within the City of Wakefield unitary district.
The village encompasses several settlements, including Old Sharlston, Sharlston Common, and New Sharlston. According to census data, the population was recorded at 2,756 in 2001 and decreased to 2,663 by the 2011 Census.
