Newark-on-Trent, also known as Newark, is a market town and civil parish located in the Newark and Sherwood district of Nottinghamshire, England. Situated on the banks of the river Trent, the town has historical significance as a major inland port.
The town is positioned along the line of the ancient Great North Road, though it is currently bypassed by the A1 road. According to the 2021 census, the population of the parish was recorded at 30,345 residents.
