New Mills is a town located in the Borough of High Peak, Derbyshire, England. It is situated at the confluence of the River Goyt and the River Sett, approximately 8 miles (13 km) south-east of Stockport and 13 miles (21 km) from Manchester.
The town sits near the border with Cheshire and is positioned above the Torrs. The Torrs is a gorge measuring 70 feet (21 m) deep that was cut through carboniferous sandstone. New Mills is located on the north-western edge of the Peak District National Park.
