New Malden is a suburban area located in southwest London, England. It is situated approximately 9.4 miles (15.1 km) from Charing Cross and falls within the boundaries of both the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and the London Borough of Merton.
Prior to the establishment of Greater London in 1965, New Malden was part of the administrative county of Surrey. The area is bordered by several neighboring localities, including Kingston, Kingston Vale, Roehampton, Norbiton, Raynes Park, Coombe, Tolworth, Motspur Park, Old Malden, and Worcester Park.
