Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough is a port town and unitary authority located in North Yorkshire, North East England. Often referred to by the colloquial name Boro, the town is situated on the southern bank of the River Tees. It forms an integral part of the Teesside built-up area and the broader Tees Valley region.

The town is governed by the Middlesbrough Council unitary authority, which is divided into twenty wards. As part of the Tees Valley Combined Authority, it works alongside Darlington, Hartlepool, Redcar and Cleveland, and Stockton-on-Tees. As of 2021, the population of Middlesbrough was 148,215.
