Margate is a seaside town situated in the Thanet District of Kent, England. Located on the north coast of the county, the town covers an area approximately 2 miles long and is positioned 16 miles north-east of Canterbury.
The town includes several areas such as Cliftonville, Garlinge, Palm Bay, and Westbrook. As of 2011, Margate had a recorded population of 61,223 residents.
