Llanrothal is a small village and historical parish situated in Herefordshire, England. It is located within the Monnow Valley on the border with Monmouthshire, Wales, approximately 5 miles (8 km) by road northwest of Monmouth.
The village is positioned near the River Monnow, which flows along the boundary between the two regions. A notable landmark in the area is the 12th-century church of St John the Baptist, which stands in a remote position overlooking the river near the England–Wales border.
