Litherland is a town located in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton within Merseyside, United Kingdom. Historically, it was situated within the county of Lancashire until 1974. The area formerly functioned as an urban district that encompassed both Seaforth and Ford.
The town is positioned approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) north of Liverpool city centre. It shares geographical borders with Waterloo to the north, Seaforth to the west, and Bootle to the south.
