Kettering is a market and industrial town located in the North Northamptonshire district of Northamptonshire, England. Situated in the East Midlands region, it lies approximately 15 miles (24 km) north-east of Northampton and 31 miles (50 km) south-west of Peterborough.
The town is positioned west of the River Ise, which serves as a tributary to the River Nene. Etymologically, the name Kettering translates to "the place of Ketter's people."
