Ilford is a large town located in East London, England. It is situated approximately 9 miles (14 km) northeast of Charing Cross and falls within the ceremonial county of Greater London.
The town is part of the London Borough of Redbridge. As of the 2011 census, Ilford had a population of 168,168, which represented just over half of the total borough population of 303,858.
