Huntingdon is a market town located in the Huntingdonshire district of Cambridgeshire, England. The town was granted its official town charter by King John in 1205 and served as the county town for the historic county of Huntingdonshire.
The town has been represented by several notable political figures throughout history. Oliver Cromwell was born in Huntingdon in 1599 and later served as one of its Members of Parliament starting in 1628. Additionally, former Conservative Prime Minister John Major represented the town as its Member of Parliament from 1979 until his retirement in 2001.
