Horwich is a town and civil parish located in the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton within Greater Manchester, England. It sits within the historic county boundaries of Lancashire, situated approximately 5.8 miles northwest of Bolton Town Centre, 5.3 miles southeast of Chorley, and 15 miles northwest of Manchester.
The town is positioned at the southern edge of the West Pennine Moors, with the M61 motorway passing close to its south and west boundaries. According to the 2011 Census, Horwich had a recorded population of 20,067 residents.
