Horsforth

Horsforth is a town and civil parish located in the City of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately five miles north-west of the Leeds city centre. Historically, the area functioned as a village within the West Riding of Yorkshire before becoming part of the City of Leeds metropolitan borough in 1974.

The town has a recorded population of 18,895 based on the 2011 Census. In 1999, a civil parish was established for the area; although it was initially governed by a parish council, the body subsequently voted to rename itself a town council. The locality falls within the Horsforth ward of Leeds City Council, which also encompasses the southern portion of Rawdon.
