Godalming is a market town and civil parish located in south-west Surrey, England. Situated approximately 30 miles (49 km) south-west of central London, it lies within the Borough of Waverley at the confluence of the Rivers Wey and Ock.
The civil parish covers an area of 3.74 square miles (9.7 km2) and encompasses several settlements, including Farncombe, Binscombe, and Aaron's Hill. Geologically, much of the region sits on the strata of the Lower Greensand Group, where Bargate stone was quarried locally until the Second World War.
