The area lies within a loop on the north bank of the River Thames. It borders Hammersmith and Kensington and Chelsea, sharing the specific area known as West Brompton with the latter. Across the river, Fulham faces Wandsworth, Putney, and the London Wetland Centre in Barnes, which is located in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
