Ferndown is a town and civil parish located in the county of Dorset in southern England. It is situated immediately to the north of Bournemouth and Poole, and approximately 4 miles (6 km) east of Wimborne Minster.
The parish, which was known as Hampreston until 1986, encompasses several communities including Ameysford, Hampreston, Longham, Stapehill, and Trickett's Cross. According to the 2021 census, the population of the parish was 17,501.
