Fareham is a market town located at the north-west tip of Portsmouth Harbour in south east Hampshire, England. Situated between the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton, the town serves as the namesake for the Borough of Fareham.
Historically, the area was an important center for the production of bricks, which were used in the construction of the Royal Albert Hall. It was also a significant location for growing strawberries and other seasonal fruits. As of 2011, the town had a population of 42,210.
