Failsworth is a town located in the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham within Greater Manchester, England. It is situated approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) north-east of Manchester and 3 miles (4.8 km) south-west of Oldham, with the M60 ring-road motorway skirting its eastern boundary.
Historically part of Lancashire, Failsworth was a farming township until the 19th century where residents supplemented their agricultural income with domestic hand-loom weaving. The area later developed into a Lancashire Mill Town characterized by redbrick cotton mills, driven by the region's humid climate and abundant coal and labor. Notable local landmarks include the Failsworth Pole and Daisy Nook, a country park situated on the town's southern edge.
