Enfield Lock is an area situated in the London Borough of Enfield, located in north London. It sits approximately east of Hertford Road between Turkey Street and the Holmesdale Tunnel overpass, extending to the River Lee Navigation and including Enfield Island Village. The locality derives its name from a lock on the River Lee Navigation, which was rebuilt in 1922.
The area is designated as part of the Lee Valley Park and the Enfield Lock Conservation Area. Its eastern boundary features marshland that was historically utilized as a testing site between the Gunpowder Mills and the Royal Small Arms Factory. Geographically, it serves as part of the boundary of Greater London, bordered by Brimsdown to the south, Waltham Cross to the north, Bullsmoor and Freezywater to the west, and the hamlet of Sewardstone and Epping Forest to the east.
