Empingham is a village located in the county of Rutland within the East Midlands region of England. It serves as a rural settlement situated near the dam of Rutland Water, with the A606 road passing directly through the village.
The population of the civil parish, which includes Horn, was recorded at 815 during the 2001 census and grew to 880 by the 2011 census. The area is notable for its proximity to Rutland Water, a reservoir originally known as Empingham Reservoir during construction but renamed to preserve the county's identity during its merger with Leicestershire.
