Dudley is a market town located in the West Midlands region of England. It is situated approximately 6 miles southeast of Wolverhampton and 8 miles northwest of Birmingham. Historically, the town was part of Worcestershire.

The town serves as the administrative centre of the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley. In 2011, the town recorded a population of 79,379, while the wider borough had a population of 312,900. The borough council adopted a slogan in 2014 identifying Dudley as the capital of the Black Country, a title that has been used informally for a long period.
