Dover is a town, civil parish, and major ferry port located in Kent, England. It serves as the administrative centre of the Dover District and is home to the Port of Dover. The town is situated southeast of Canterbury and east of Maidstone.
The town faces France across the Strait of Dover, which represents the narrowest part of the English Channel at 33 kilometres (21 mi) from Cap Gris-Nez in France. As of 2024, the estimated population of Dover was 44,209.
